Change from Chem to Business???? (1 Viewer)

Hey,
I'm very confused. at the moment i'm in yr 11 and do
3u eng
3u maths
economics
physics
chem

i dont know if i shuld change to business studies. my plan is to do a traineeship with pricewaterhouse in accountivng but i heard chem scales well and i am aiming for a high UAI.

Also does business scale down???

Business scales down a bit, but you shouldn't be deciding which subject to do by its scaling abilities. Instead, you should also consider whether you like chemistry or business better, choice/interest is important if you want to get a good UAI. All in all, it is up to you to decide what's better for you.

There is one thing yur overlooking in terms of scaling.. the EASIER subjects get scaled DOWN whilst the HARDER get scaled UP. So chances are your raw mark for the EASIER subject will be HIGHER than for yur HARDER subject, thus a similar result would be achieved. It is for this reason that you choose the subjects you enjoy so as to get a higher "raw" mark, and thus a higher mark overall.

I do both Chemistry and Business and i'm in year 12...it depends on the teacher, but chemistry is by far better than business (in my opinion), it gets super boring and you have to write so much, it's all theory, theory, theory
