In my year 11 advanced class, we have to choose five different texts for our AoS change, and I was just wondering if To Kill A Mockingbird is an appropriate text for a novel?
Thanks

Yep. Anything where there is some form of change - a person/society/group/being/idea changes/grows/develops in some way would work.

To Kill a Mockingbird is the set text for the Year 11 standard course at my school. I have read it for pleasure and yes, it is definitely an appropriate related text. Like Aerath said, describe and analyse the changing attitudes about race in the text.

My set text is Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Is it true that it's an metaphor for the industrial revolution? Gabi, a friend of mine who graduated last year said that it stands for the industrial revolution raping England and killing its bastard child, etc.
