Just wondered if anyone has anyone good material/examples for 'Changing Perspective'.

P.S. I'm doing Peter Skrynecki's Immigrant's Chronicle Poetry. So if you have any material that links in with Peter Skrynecki's poetry, it'll be greatly appreciated.

i recommend getting the Peter Skrynecki's study guide from Excel

The film The Body (with Antonio Banderas) and the Bob Dylan song The Times, They Are A-Changin' both work well with Skrzynecki's poetry and changing perspectives.

the seige is a really good movie for powerplay

the text we studied for powerplay was Julius Ceasar

I'm making my own notes, you can't really find anything off the internet. www.imdb.com is good for finding soome quotes though.

Changing Perspectives

I've got a variety of text i can choose from, but here are two.

American Beauty (movie staring kevin spacie (check the spelling)- its a retrospective thing

Changes by Tupac (song) - Shows how in reality/beyond the face value, we dont change

Whats the American History X about?
And in what ways does it show change (coz it sounds like a documentary)?
That X kinda makes me think its about the whole Martin Luther King thing.

One of the best movies I ever seen, I suggest you rent it because it really is interesting

American history X

Yeha its probly my fav movie... lucky that i get to use it for hsc!

Its about a white supremacist gang leader gets put in jail for brutally murdering (the gutter scene...Ouch!) a black guy....
whilst in jail he changes his perspectives on the views he once held...and when he emerges from jail he is a new person but needs to save his brother from going down the same path.

Really good movie...i recommend watching it.

DONT BYE THE EXCEL BOOK!!!! i have personally been in touch with peter and he thinks it is a load of crap, its all wrong!!!!!!

for changing perspective i'm using:

- A patch of blue by elizabeth kata,(novel) it's about this blind girl in the 50's/60's in the us. anyways her mums a prostitute and her grandfather a menial worker. anyways she meets this guy and she falls in love - then she discovers he's black...

- I was only 19 - a walk in the green light by redgum (song) and its about this guys view of war before he goes to vietnam and then how war has changed him.
