If I were to change what I wanted to use as my prescribed text in the HSC exam would it be possible or is the question going to be related to what my school did?

I would advise against, because the courses (advanced and standard) stipulate that you need to have studied at least one of each prescribed text type (like poetry, prose fiction, drama, Shakespeare, etc). If you change your prescribed text for AOS, then it will likely look like you have studied two text types and then not studied another compulsory text type (idk how strict they are about this really, but I honestly would not test it). Also, your knowledge will surely be deeper in the text that you studied in class for AOS.

The AOS question is based on the concept of discovery, so it won't be specific to a particular text. It will instead be broad enough to cover every single prescribed text for AOS.

Can I ask why you are thinking of doing this, just out of curiosity haha

My school is doing The Tempest, I've forgotten most of what happens in it and am panicking
