i think, if i rmemeber correctly, wrote

understands the implications of continuities and changes on a society

understands the diverse cultures in the world and approaches them with great sensitivity and understanding..

i said a socially literate person:
- shows respect and understanding of other people's beliefs and values etc
- doesn't believe their society/culture to be superior to others' (ie ethnocentric)
