Chemistry or 4u tutoring? (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm not sure whether to get chemistry of 4u tutoring for next term. I really need help in chemistry as some concepts have gone completely over my head and I still struggle a lot with doing stoichiometry or any of the math stuff as well as with some other things, but I've also heard that 4u is really hard so i'm not sure if I should get a tutor for it (I only want to be tutored for 1 subject). I've done quite well in 3u without tutoring but i'm not sure how different 4u is.
Also if I was to get a chemistry tutor would it be better to to it in a class like in a tutoring centre or would 1 on 1 be better?

Yeah, I also am curious whether I should get a tutor. My lowest mark in 3U is 92%, and I generally grasp concepts fairly well and I do a lot of extra maths at home, but I am anxious about the HSC. My teacher says I will go very well without a tutor, but I just want to make sure. For anybody else who did 4U without a tutor, did you ever feel behind the class (most of the people who will be doing 4U in my class do 4U tutoring already).

Basically what my maths teacher said was that only get a tutor if you need it @calamebe, mabye not but (goodluck with ur accelerated 4unit) @qwert73, you may need a tutor for chem so you can build on those foundation understandings

If some basic concepts in chemistry you are still struggling with-then it is best you actually get a one-on one tutor, in general centre tutoring goes too fast for students whose fundamentals are still not solid yet-and for these students, the lack of understanding can have a very rapid snowballing effect.

Thanks for the reply . The place which I am looking at going to has both classes and small group lessons where you can ask whatever questions you like and get extra help so I think that might be good. Also how would you go about finding a one-on-one tutor because I really don't know apart from online postings I guess.

I've also read around but I'm still not sure about how much prelim is in HSC chemistry as it just says assumed knowledge, however some people have said that skills like calculations and knowledge of substances/bonds/compounds are the main thing, would anyone know anything more about this. Thanks
