hi :D

Im just wondering... When you write half equation, net and complete ionic equations, do you have to take into consideration the diatomic molecules ie- oxygen, nitrogen, chlorine etc.? Or do you treat them as a single atom?

Thanks :D

You have to consider them.

So when writing a half equation for oxygen it has to be O2 + 4e---> 2O2- ? I'm not sure if it's correct but hopefully it makes sense

Yes. At the end of the day, all equations must be balanced, both by stoichiometrics and by charge.

a "stoichiometric" reaction is where all of the products are used up e.g 2 mol Hydrogen gas reacts with 1 mol of oxygen gas to form 1 mole of water. In a stochiometric reaction there is no limiting reagent.

OR u could just say stoichiometrics is simply what u do with moles and calculation of quantities lol
