catalytic cracking; the use of liquid oil vapour, over a bed of aluminium silica, including some steam pumped through too :D

(it doesnt join well, i got a dodgy memory of it :()

nanotechnology = in future, it might make drinks so that everyone buys the same drink, but you program your flavours into it. i read it reader's digest :p

Nanotechnology certainly is chemistry! It's the biggest technology you're likely to see in your lifetime. It's synergistic with biotechnology, since mother nature is the best nanotechnologist! (just look at yourself for a reason why).

It ranges from photvoltaics to cosmetics to food production to medicine, with this being an obviously non-exhaustive list.

Tetrahedral structure = eg. methane, where 4 atoms are connected to a central atom and the charges are balanced.
