Some did....seeing it was shown on expo as a display.

If you ask me, even though Richard compensated for the harder AI part, I think he over compensated for it - from some of my friends with near 0 working AIs still managed very high marks. AI is harder if you want to solve it correctly, but its just as easy to fluke.

So
11'3'1 is comparable to 3u maths
11'4'1 is comparable to 4u maths
11'5'1 is comparable to 5u maths? :D
is there a 1161? :p

oh no, 1131 would not be comparable to 3U maths, i kno ppl who did quite well in 3U maths (band 5) & thought 1131 to be challenging. so they did the General Mathematics (i think dat was wat it was called)...

check out the maths site for description http://www.maths.unsw.edu.au/ or for more specfic info for each 1st yr subject go here -> http://www.maths.unsw.edu.au/ForStudents/courses/firstyears2.html

if u're not sure if u can do a higher sub eg math1131/math1141, jus try it out first - uve got nothin to lose! :) :)
then if u do find it too hard / takes 2 much time, u can always drop it (for maths, it only takes 5mins to drop - go to first year student office @ the red centre. for comp the info is on the 1711 webpage - from memory it was by email) :)

Hi everyone, do you think I will do well in MATH1031?
I only did 2 U in school and got 82 in the HSC

Is MATH1031 the lowest I can do?? Because I am not very interested in Maths but in Med Sci, you have to do maths....
And when i enrol, MATH1031 is the lowest I can choose. Is there other alternative of lowering??

And also, Is Math1031 the same as 1041??

Why can't I do 1041 in session 1?

if it doesnt allow u to, i think its better to go to the enrolment advisory day & ask.

cos sumtimes when u pick a lower maths course (anything below MATH1131) they mite want u to do the lower math sub first, then have u do MATH1131/MATH1141 in another session.

so to be on the safe side go to ur advisory day & ask. (if its too late then go to ur faculty office).

i dont think MATH1031 & MATH1041 is the same. MATH1041 is a statistics subject & the topics seem to be all different.

MATH1041
Statistics for Life and Social Sciences

Staff Contact: School Office
Session: 2
Units of Credit: 6

Excluded: MATH1049, MATH1059, MATH2829, MATH2839, MATH2859, MATH2899, ECON1203, ECON2292
Description: Probability, random variables, independence. Discrete distributions, Poisson and binomial distributions. Data analysis, Descriptive statistics. Sampling, Continuous distributions, the normal distribution. Estimation of mean and variance. Tests of hypotheses. Linear regression and correlation. Analysis of variance. Tests for goodness of fit. Bayesian statistics.
Assumed Knowledge: As for MATH1031
Note: This course is intended for students who do not propose to study any Mathematics beyond first year level. Almost all later year courses in Mathematics have completion of MATH1231, MATH1241 or MATH1251 as a prerequisite.

MATH1041 is not offered in session 1 (it saids in the description, session 2, whereas MATH1031 has session 1 or 2, so it's offered in both sessions)

not all uni subjects are offered in both sessions, so u need to becareful wat subjects u enrol to or it mite take u an extra session / year b4 u gradute.

dont mean 2 freak u out :) & hope sumthin ive said helps :)

I found 1711 challenging...but not quite as far as hellish. I reckon 1721 was easier than 1711!

I dunno...maybe I have experience with imperative programming - I wasn't very keen on Haskell, topped with doing discrete maths sem1 wasn't my favourite session.

I remember, with Richard's labs I would always had to start them early to finish them before the lab ends - with Andrewts they were so much easier - I knew for sure I could finish them even if I started them at the lab!

i see...
so you DONT have to get DN ... but a CREDIT. which still seems really hard haha..

and ... 90..................................wahhhh *looks at sunny, eyes gleaming*

You do need a DN (75) in 1711 or 1011 if you want to get into 1721 though....

85 is HD.
