PQ=QR.QS where PQ is a tangent to the circle.

I substitued the values of the tangent and I'm stuck with this equation.

8.9^2=x(x+9.1)

Can someone solve it showing all steps?

I don't get the question :S Q is where the tangent touches the circle? What are QR and QS?

What are you solving for? x?

x^2 + 9.1x = 8.9^2

x^2 + 9.1x - 8.9^2 = 0
x = 5.4456... (using Quadratic formula)
