clarify how ranks affect hsc marks and atar estimate pleaseeeee :D (1 Viewer)

from what i understand if you are 1st in your assesment rank and then you come 4th or 5th in externals you will still get the best external mark out of your class?
if that is true does this apply for the person that is 2nd ?
if not can you please give me an example of what happends thankss

english: 4/19
maths: 2/19
maths ex1: 4/6
pd: 3rd/13
biology: 2/13
chemistry: 2/7
atar estimate please thanksss heapssss

You always keep your external mark. This is how BOS explains the process by which internal marks are moderated http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc-results/moderation.html

As for your ATAR, we need a school rank.

can you just tell me what is the purpose assesment ranks if they dont affect my external mark ?
and lol my school rank is terrible 608 but we have a pretty good year dis year

Basically, your schools internal marks are moderated according to the cohorts external performance. People are assigned an internal mark based on their ranking.

but yea lol if you dont mind can you give me an example

form what i understand if student A came first all year in english and then
then in the hsc exam he came 3rd what mark does he end up getting? his own mark or first or the avg in between them two

In you situation, person A gets the top external mark as their internal mark. For your estimate, I need a school rank.

Sorry didnt notice. Its hard to say considering how low your school rank is, but I reakon 74-82 maybe.
