Porsenna is a dactyl? you mean, Porsenna goes "long short short"? huh?? that's not possible unless we're meant to elide "Porsenn(a) iubebat". which I thought didn't happen since the "i" acts as a consonant there.

and for the same reason I thought it was "e/iec/tum", pronounced "e-yec-tum".

:D We never have to look at them again. Ever.

And NO MORE JOURNEYS *happydance*

Steph, Mr Brown has your trial paper for you to go get on Monday.
And we need to go see Mr Hare to get our report page for Latin. The fixed one.

And I think he also just put the exams into perspective...
Longest exams he's ever done (classicsyness)
14 exams in one week. Sunday off, not Saturday.
12 of these are 3 hour exams. On various authors, comment, critical analysis, unseens, prose composition, poetry composition
2 of these are 1.5 hours. One of them is on the whole of Virgil in translation. The other is on the whole of Homer in translation.

Be thankful, guys.

Steph, that was a very mean thing you said about scansion and Vergil (OK about Livy though). On the other hand STFU JOURNEYS. STFU SHAKESPEARE. I NEVER HAVE TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU EVER AGAIN! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry.

Left behind once again (sobs quietly). If your relationship is so perfect, why do you keep having affairs? Ross and I will be completely monogamous. Just desperately unhappy with eachother. But completely monogamous.

I used to do that. I built all the wonders, built a massive army then killed the other player, taking great pleasure in it. I was always pissed off because even though I won the game by hundreds of points, the score at the end useless ranked me as 'worthless' or 'pathetic'. The story of my life.

Speaking of killing Aztecs, in Ancient History last year we had a conversation about which ancient civilisation we would wipe out of history if we had the power. I said the Aztecs. I don't know why, there's just something about them that annoys me.

There's a difference between being smart and knowing stuff. It's possible to know a lot of stuff, but not be that smart - if you fall into this category you will still do well in the HSC. I have no problem believing that Steph doesn't know as much stuff as she should, but that doesn't mean she's not smart. So once again I am right.

Was it so wrong of me to be falling asleep during that stupid AOS exam!? >> << >>

Sorry I found it really boring (and surprisingly tiring) and I stupidly didn't watch the clock, so my whole paper is pretty much GARBAGE in my opinion. :p OH WELL I'LL NEVER HAVE TO LOOK AT ANOTHER BLOODY STIMULUS BOOKLET OR ICKY POETRY EVER AGAIN! BURN JOURNEYS BURN! Waste of my life that 2 hours! XD

Nicholas, "that was a very mean thing you said about" Shakespeare! XD

Well I'm sorry, give me a couple of months to get over classics being annoying...haha...I'm sorry but I have to say this, I like Livy better than Vergil! :p XD

Well I've come up with some very creative answers for that:
1) Monogamy is overrated? XD
2) Zara's really boring :p :p :p
3) Zara's too busy with her ex-wife to spend time with me?
4) We're happier for it? (So there you and Ross are unhappy, we're not we're still the perfect couple!)
5) We enjoy our somewhat friend based status of high class call girls (I don't think you'd want to ask nor would we have an explanation...we're just sexy skanky hoes around ourselves...erm Ki help!? XD)
6) We're making most of our ugly non fat days...we've faced the reality that we'll be obese and ugly when we're 30 so we're getting all the cheating out of the way now. XD

Zara is welcome to add some more very good reasons. XD XD XD

Were you playing on easy!? That normally happens on the easier levels. I think my highest ranking was Fair or Cruel, whichever of those two are higher up. But yeah, on Civ IV I didn't win a game on one of the hard modes but I was still ranked higher than if I would have won on an easier mode.

I know what you mean I LOVE wiping out civilisations and/or pissing them off by making ridiculous deals with them during war time and watching them EXPLODE and not being able to do anything to you because you're the ULTIMATE RULER of the WORLD.

See Zara, I'd make a good advisor in the empire!

I think it was probably Civ that influenced your decision. I find them to be the most annoying civilisation EVER in Civ. They're slightly better in AOE when you're with them.

That explanation just hurt my brain. XD

Well I suppose, I just know stuff that is highly irrelevant to everything I need to know, like 10 million SE Asian women are wiped out each generation from problems associated with poor standards of care and lack of care available in child birth.

Over 100 people died when 2 bombs ripped through the motorcade on an attempted assassination of Benazir Bhutto, former primeminister of Pakistan who is home after a self imposed exile to cut a deal with Musareef (can't spell that) to form a balance of power and to get cleared for corruption.

They made this really ugly statue tribute to Boris Yeltsan...Baha it's hilarious.

They're banning magic mushrooms in the Nederlands too.

And yeah...I spend too much time reading stuff on the BBC...it shows when I do my world quizzes and the crappest I do is 6/7 (I technically had a gut feeling about the one I got wrong this week)...Baha I mean the Chinese president mentioning democracy in a communist party address...plausible (baha), but still the olympics made much more sense.

And the French president split with his wife...man I swear it's like a soapie it's great...man I love the French :p

And Nicholas, you're wrong because I don't think I've given you any reason to believe that I'm smart, so there!

AND KI

Oh shit, I was meant to go and get that...baha I only noticed the mistake the other day...I'll get it on Monday!

Whut trial paper!? Or more what part? In otherwords do you know if he's found those Circe essays yet!?

Poor Mr Brown! I want to go and give him a hug so much right now! But yeah thank god I know if I ever had to do that I'D DIE UNDOUBTEDLY!

NEED TO GO AND STUDY FOR GREEK BUT I'M FALLING ASLEEP!!! >> << >>

The trial paper.
He lost the Circe paper completely.
He also had other bits which Fergie didn't mark (which reminds me, JEREMY AND NICHOLAS (capitals because both of you say you skim-read/can't follow XD) I want your ext greek comment answers), but I don't think he had anything of yours.

Hmm. Literally first thing I heard when I woke up this morning: "At least sixty people have been killed and scores injured...car bomb...palestinian correspondent..." D:

I believe there is statistical evidence to show that couples who think their partner may have a chance at having an affair manage to maintain a closer relationship than those who don't. Some kind of danger element, I think.

XDD. I think Steph means, for the 'high class call girl' thing, that if you were girls you'd probably see uhhm, more, of us than you ever will because you are guys. Which seems to be the opposite of what a lot, if not most, of our grade does.

The latin mistake was funny. 45/20? I wish.

That's annoying. That was my favourite assessments if there are such things! >.<

Eww trial paper? I don't want to remember that...so isn't going to help me.

Oh good. Oh shit. I'm so freaked about Greek it's not funny! I'm so bloody freaked about commentary and I don't know what to do because I always do so BADLY in commentary and it's so much STRESS!

D:! Yeah, and did you hear? They caught that Canadian pedophile in Thailand, thank god!

I also just read an article how they found the bodies of 5 babies in the cellar of this Frenchwoman's house. Her boyfriend called the police when he smelt a foul stench coming from there. Apparently she suffocated them all soon after birth. This isn't the first case in France either.

Now I'm looking at pictures of life in Latin America on Reuters.

Thank you Ki, you just proved that Zara and I have a better relationship than Ross and Nicholas! *huggleglompsquish*

You made us sound like non-whorey dirty wenches...if you know what I mean :p :p I LOVE IT! XD (we do act like that don't we?) Well yeah I agree all the bimbo skanks at valedictory dinner was hilarious! Not only were they orange they were dressed like skanky bogans as well (always wanted to call someone a skanky BOGAN).

I know, I was very happy with my mistake marks :p :p

Yuck. Being back with the whole grade today made me depressed. >> << >>

Now I have to study for Greek...but I want dinner.

AND lastly, how dumb is this? I picked up my english translation of Vergil today and decided that I actually want to read it now...how crappy is my timing? *halo*

ok, so it's coming down to the very thin, prickly wire that is the 3 days before we sit the Greek exam. I honestly don't know how you are doing a full program...i'm just doing greek and i'm still stressin'!!!! i do hope latin and english went well btw? weren't too hard i hope, and i shotgun your notes for journeys!!!

so, fill me in dearests..what helpful facts can you enlighten me on which will help in the exam? nicholas, i know you're hiding something up your sleeve...an ace of some sort, but which case? i mean suit.. hahaha that was a genuine mistake...

if we get some shitty commentary which i don't know, i'll kill someone...as will i if i do a shit essay, which is more than likely to happen.

and if i don't know the vocab, and the unseen turns out a disaster...and even more likely that i won't know my set texts by tuesday..>>!!! nooooooooo!

deep breaths ABII...deep breaths..

how is everyone feeling before the bid day? do you have anything on the monday?

Thucy questions!

for:
ton de Dhmosthenh proselabe punthanomenos thn apobasin auton es thn nhson dianoeisthai
Is the auton "the island itself" or "he understood that he" (or options not included XD)?

And

How are you translating prosischontas in 30.2?

Aaaand:

How are you translating ep' axiochrewn in 30.3

God that all looks weird XD

ABII, it's really not that bad once you get started.
Latin and AOS were straightforward enough (though I still don't like that virgil unseen, and nicholas, this time ACTUALLY SAY NOTHING TO THAT)
Damn, I was hoping to burn my journeys notes... Do you know what texts you'll be doing next year?

My tips all add up to breathing deeply, realising that hey, this is just like all the assessments, and hoping I know all the vocab I need to >.>
So no aces from me, although I'm sure Steph shall point out her lovely ancient-greek-porn-pottery card aces XD :p

You'll know them my Tuesday. Hour per page for Thucy -- more than enough time. And easier for Electra.

We have the other half of English on the Monday. So really our first four days aren't very nice O__o. And even worse for Steph, who has Chem on the Wednesday.

Steph, making us sound non-whorey is what I do best. As of now, just because I said so and I needed something to reply to that :p

You'll do fine. If you keep stressing I'll making you write out ten lines of "I can do commentary". Just learn the detail and write down everything you know.

Ah yes, the orange bimbos. I saw dresses which were tight as gladwrap and barely covered people. Fun times. Though better than that orange dress which seemed to be made of string and only covered the vital parts which someone wore to the year 10 formal...

Where's that line from?

I'm not up to there in Thucy yet! (30 ish)

Thank you Ki, that I'll now be known as the "porn" provider ancient style, but yes those aces would be with love from me too.

Yeah, I hope your theory's right Ki. I seem to be progressing with Electra quite well when I'm paying attention. I need to be done with all translations tomorrow so I can spend a good day on Chemistry at least. English will have to be a "hope for the best". If I at least pull an excellent for WH and highs for the other two I'll be blissfully happy! But yeah, AB I'm more screwed than you!

Everything I know will equal a very short incoherent sentence. XD I HATE thucy!

Eww I'm so glad I never saw that dress at formal. They just make me puke, my mother made the most hilarious comment about them though! XD

And now my QUESTION TIME:

What are the parts of 'oida'?

Teach me commentary?

AND

Now that I think about it a crash course on verb endings/parts? *halo* Shut up my brain is MOOSH!

posiskontas is "having put in [on the outer edge]" referring to the ships, and is the accusative because it is the subject of an indirect statement following an assumed dei "it was necessary that they..."

i reckon the exam will be ok, hopefully. The essays always scare, but oh well.

the question is, etoimoi este? ouk esti tade; etoimos oupote eimi!

The finger thing works, by the way.

Thanks ABII :D (I am now officially pronouncing that 'ab2')

men ouk kai etoimos eimi, de 'this then is what happened around Pylos' is actually in my head which means that I've finished the translation :D (i'm sure I've forgotten lots, but I'm just going to hope >.<)

The unseens scare me more D:

Thank you!!! What's the aorist etc?

The finger thing so doesn't work!

Well I'm screwed. No where near finished. Falling asleep too. I'm going to up all night. I'm not going to bed until I've done all of the translations so I can spend the day on Chemistry which I'm not confident in yet and my two hours on ENglish.

um. Ki, your first one: I believe the "auton" refers to Demosthenes. so the subject of "punthanomenos" is Cleon, and "auton" refers to Demosthenes to indicate a different person.

I have 30.3, "hws ep' axiochrewn" as "as for a matter of importance."

iste.

and I believe that statistics also show that STATISTICS ARE WRONG.

Woah, you called me Ki XD. And here I was just getting used to being called Julia again.

Brilliant :3
And that's a hell of a lot nicer than the book translation. Thank you :D

So if they're wrong, the statistic that statistics are wrong is also wrong :3

English sucked. well, one section did.

no, I'm not excited. nor ready. XD my brain exploded sometime earlier this year. I hear they're still finding pieces in the exam room where it happened.

and when it's over? I will start studying for 4-unit maths. XD

Anything's better than journeys. I'm just hoping I want this modules to count even tough it will, guessing the shittiness of AOS. Well then again I got to rant about Heathcliff, so that was fun, despite it being English and all.

Not excited at all. Commentary will be a bitch and a half thanks to stupid Thucydides. I really hope we get a question like "in your reading of Thucydides how has he managed to engage your interest" or something like that where (as Ki and I were talking today) argue that it's been completely BORING.

Otherwise, I'm plodding along and should be done at a decent hour with my study. Yay!

Well no holiday for me after greek...I will have 6 hours or less to study the whole Chemistry syllabus...fun...I don't trust my earlier study at all! Lucky me! At least I'll be done with all conts minus 2u Maths by wed...thanks for the luck for that ABII I really need it!!!

English was better than I thought it would be, but I really hate doing that exam D:

XD. Now I have the image of a tall, made-insane-with-relief person running through hallways frantically bellowing stuff no one else understands, and business studies students running for cover XDDD
And I can't believe you bothered to translate that XD

When it's over, I will sleep, then start thinking about maths, ext greek and ext english.

Steph -- please think positive :3
