University of Sydney school holiday program

hey everyone hows all the year 12 work going? just wanted to ask has anyone ever gone to those lectures in the school holidays run by the university of sydney? (summer school)

if some one has could they tell me if they are worth it and whether u learn alot

do you mean the distinction courses? like the cosmology one and some other one?
one of my friends did it and apparently it counts towards ur units for the HSC

im thinking about goin to that... the chem one.. so i can pick up on all the stuff i missed in the prelim

and maybe exam skills or whatever it is (only 28 bucks :p)

theres like 2 different ones.. one that counts to HSC units.. but not uai as Jenifer said [the first one] .. and the tutorial thingies where they dont count but help u [[the second one jenifer said].. umm i want to go to the biology one :) they sound good ^^

ok after going to one of them for physics i was turned of from going to any of them frankly the information they giv is general and only helps certain ppl depending on how important the information they are telling you is to your own persona lstudy IMHO i found it a waste of money and time
then again i'm sure there are others that found it productive and worthwhile
i urge you to atleast check it out but if you are dissappointed..i told you so
and if you not..well good on you..
anyways good luck in your studies and done forget yr12 2003 are here to help aswell

I agree, those things are such a waste of money AND time. id rather just listen/study/work myself without some idiot telling me crap I already know :rolleyes:

i went last year, for creative writing workshop, and i thought it was really helpfull. yeah, for physics and chem. my teacher is was one of the lecturers, so i didn't have to go, i just scabbed the notes off him. :p
