Actually...you can't tell how much you get scaled because its different for the percentile you are in. However, you can get a average (mean) of the scaling you would receive in subjects in the link Ragerunner put up.

And that it changes year to year. But looking at the following trends it doens't change that dramatically.

how do school assessment marks affect the uai
this is what ive been told, the hsc is 50% of the uai mark, then the school assessments are 50% of the uai, then added together that makes my uai mark, is this correct, please correct me if im wrong, one more question if i got 80 in the hsc for eng adv eco and bus studies and only 70 for sdd and maths , do u reckon that will get me a uai of 80 roughly

The HSC consists of 2 parts,

School assessments

HSC exam

A HSC mark is calculated which is the average of the 2.

There is no UAI mark.

You'd probably get around the borderline 80 or fall short by a little with those marks.

50% of the moderated school assessment mark and 50% of the HSC exam contribute in the calculation of your UAI.
There is a process of moderating your school assessment marks and scaling of your HSC mark to determine your UAI.
(Raw exam mark + Moderated assessment mark = HSC mark)

Yeah...I think those changes in your marks would probably get you into the 80s.

Hmm...I think it is typical for most people to do better in the HSC exam than in their trials because trials were set especially hard. There is mention of a small number of people who do really well in the HSC exam and thus have a large gap between their assessment mark and exam mark but generally most people do around 10%-20% better i think.

Another reason they do better is because you have a 1 month break before the exam wheras the trials most people had it the day after school.
