HELP!

i went to the group interview etc and they email me back:

Thank you for your recent application for the Christmas Recruitment
Drive 2004 and for your participation in our selection process.

From your recent group interview and online assessment we were able to
establish that you have a combination of skills and experience that
makes you a suitable candidate for a casual position over the Christmas
period of 2004 / 2005.

From this point forwards we are working towards matching candidates to
individual stores. In most cases the following stage of process will be
an interview directly with the relevant Store Manager.

Due to the volume of applications received for this program, this
process may take a number of weeks however in some circumstances, where
candidate preferences far outweigh the number of vacancies for a
particular store, some candidates may not be selected for this next
stage.

We appreciate your application and the time that you have taken to
participate in our selection process and thank you for considering Coles
Myer Limited as a prospective employer.

Yours sincerely,

COLES MYER LIMITED CHRISTMAS RECRUITMENT TEAM

does that mean i didnt get the job? because i recall reading in a thread somewhere that theres a specific 'polite thanks but no thanks' reply, is this one it?? what do you think this means?

which leads us to the question

What are they looking for in applicants? surely not just the interview stuff. Maybe we need to make a flashy resume or something.

i can answer that. at the end of the day they want people who can persuade/entice/seduce other people to buy stuff at myer, so that net sales goes up, company profits go up, shareholder confidence goes up and all the corporate officers get a nice fat bonus at the end of the year.

and no, i read in an interview guide it is not advisable to type your resume on leather-bound 200gm ultra-glossy kodak photo paper... something that neither oversells nor undersells yourself, succint and concise 2 A4-pager will do. HR officers have neither the time nor interest to read your life story.
