Combined Law with commerce @ UNSW (1 Viewer)

Hi

im a student in yr12 rite now and I'm interested in doing commerce law combined degree at UNSW


BUT, unlike most law students i want to follow a commerce-oriented degree... the question i want to ask is.. how USEFUL is an 'additional' law degree ontop of ur bacehlor of commerce?


like wat kind of advantages does it give u.. increased career opportunities, higher wages??? i srsly hav no idea n my schools career advisor is useless n does weed haha

LLB looks good next to ur name wotever profession ur going in2... but aside from that i dont think it helps much professionally... u mite get promoted more easily cos u have three more letters next to ur name... but seriously... once ur working... its all abt ur performance...

if ur really sure ur going in2 commerce related career n have no interest in law at all... then why not do commerce at unsw... n try damn hard n do honours... ull b much better off this way...

business grads from UNSW average starting salaries are about 42k

Starting salaries tend to be quite low for all professions other than dentists and actuaries! It's how fast they rise throughout your career that matters more IMO.

If you want to go into investment/merchant banking for example, you'll need a good understanding of corporate law. That's why I'm doing fins/law.

errr, pigs, considering doctors/dentist's starting pay is in the low 50ks, 45k is not bad...

law is a very useful degree in my opinion.

for wollongong law i know its about 41,770 (good guides) so in USYD it must be nearing the 50's i reckon
