hmm

Im in comm/LLB, dunno wat major for commerce though. Im one of those people who ACTUALLY enjoys accounting, but i dunno it doesnt seem as broad. Economics looks okay, and i find a lot of the content is applicable in legal areas as well. Finance seems a huge risk (no pun intended)...dunno jobs in IB and that prob wouldn't satisfy me because i want to have a life.

Marketing/Management are out of the picture! Wat are your thoughts? Prob leaning towards accounting or eco...does accounting/LLB leave a lot of doors open? Is there any work that would combine the two areas and is it fairly specialised? I know of Forensic Accounting but wasn't sure whether a law degree is required. Maybe a tax barrister?? And what would eco lead to? Jobs in gov, public policy, intelligence even???

advice please.

there are many fields where accounting and law can be combined, eg working for a law firm and working in their insolvency department - however jsut having an accounting background can have a huge benefit as you can understand company structure, give better advice for clients etc.

also, finance doesnt necessarily mean that you will work in IB - you can work as a lawyer or just in the financial field, mergers and acquisitions etc

you seem to be looking just at the stereotypical jobs of those majors...

in the end depends wat u want to do.. if u want to work as a lawyer wat would u specialise in? those are the things you should be thinking about, coz u can make the most of your commerce major

Thanks for the input...yea i guess i am generalising ob areer options are broad. From a bit of research I was doing, looks as thoughaccounting backgrounds are pretty well regarded in commercial law fims as well.

Anyone got any input on an economics major? I find im very strong at economics and its interesting however what would be more regarded in the workplace- accy or eco???

Would eco open up more public job doors such as in departments, policy, and is there any fields where it correlates directly with being a lawyer?
