which units did you pick or what have you decided to major in?

- need feedback
What type of feedback do u want? I.e. Do u want to know what units to take to get a certain major, what are the compulsory first year commerce units etc?

if u are doin first year, it doesn't really matter anyway, since u need to do 6 subjects which are compulsory for any commerce students (aprt from ecmt, which if u have dont math1905/1005, with any other first year math, u can exempt from doing it)

if u wanna go into accounting then u major in accounting
if u like computers u do ecommerce or information systems
if ur a rapist at maths and remotely like finance ... then u do actuary
if u wanna hire and manage the people in a company u do human resources....

i dunt see wats so difficult about that....

For First year Commerce the compulsory units are:

Accounting 1A (ACCT1001)
Accounting 1B (ACCT1002)
Econometrics and Business Statistics (ECMT1010)
Microeconomics (ECON1001)
Macroeconomics (ECON1002)
Business Information Systems and Foundations (INFS1000)

N.B. Each are 6 credit points in value. In general most ppl choose 24 credit points each semester, so for first year thats 4 subjects per semerster. These are units u must pass if u want to satisfy the requirements for a commerce degree.

Atm since i'm doing a double degree i have only completed most of these compulsory subjects, but I thought that INFS was really useless and boring, Accounting was ok most would disagree, ECMT was good (again a lot would find this boring its to do with stats and that) , Microeconomics was boring, but if u did HSC eco u would be ok.

Nah there's two ways to look at it. If i did stats (only 3cp) instead of ecmt i would have to do an extra stats unit to be exempt from doing the ecmt 1A course. SO thats why I did ecmt.......and most ppl who did it were losties in maths.....so it was all good. :p

Yep I do adv maths.
Finance is one of my options, also maybe insurance/banking, stats, or even science related areas.
