  • not rounding when the question asks
  • forgetting f''(x) being positive doesnt mean the stat pt is maximum (its concave up and minimum)
  • when solving for x in trig within a domain, forgetting to change the domain to whatever is inside the trig
  • subtracting the negative part of an integral
  • for financial math mixing up n for number of years an amount is invested and n for number of terms in sum formula
  • forgetting if sin(2x) i dilate it by 2 or by half

I would also add:

  • Forgetting to add units (questions on currency, area/volume, measurement)
  • For indefinite integrals, make sure to add the constant of integration for completeness
  • For integration in general, forgetting to write dx
  • Not testing nature of stationary points for graphing (using second derivative or using epsilon added/subtracted either side)
  • Don't eliminate solutions by dividing by 0 (especially prevalent in trigonometry)
  • Forgetting to simplify completely in algebra and trigonometry
  • Not flipping inequality sign when multiplying or dividing by negatives

make sure to check your work thoroughly line by line, you'll surely discover some silly mistakes they could be anything

it can even be basic algebra that you screwed up, happened to me in the 2u HSC I wrote 3/9 = 3 .. even after checking my work like 3 times I couldn't pick up on this stupid mistake rip, tragic case of bad luck
