Chem Students,

At this stage of the year, the majority of students have completed module one (assuming you started with the first module).

I have attached below, a revision worksheet, containing heaps of questions which assess just about EVERY aspect of the first module.

It will take a few days to complete, and it is very similar to the work we do during our

.............CHEMISTRY COACH HOLIDAY REVISION WORKSHOPS...........

This worksheet is the most COMPREHENSIVE revision you can do for your half-yearly exams!

Complete it all, and i guarrentee you will achieve an exceptional mark in your exam.

Cheers,
George

p.s. if you want help with any questions, first refer to your TEXTBOOK, please do not 'ask' for answers, the point of the worksheet it to figure out and learn the material, you may not know all the answers, but they are in your textbook.

GET IT HERE....

That will be helpful. I don't have an assessment task for chem this term, but I'd still like to revise.

^ Not all that helpful, actually. It's basically just an interpretation of the syllabus, with specifics for some questions.

I mean, you don't need answers when do dotpoint summaries, right?

The point of this revision workbooklet is to study and figure out the answers inpendently, USE YOUR TEXTBOOK, it has ALL the answers,

If really do not agree with students 'studying' 'dot-point' summaries, there is more to many of the dot-points that what is simply stated, many of the bigger concepts require you to read parts of your textbook and really study them, and not just memorise 'answers' given from a dot-point summary.

You all have heaps of time to keep learning, print of the module revision workbook and just work through it gradually.

Best of luck,
George

yeh see thats what i do, i write the dot point and then answer under it,

explain the displacement of
metals from solution in terms of
transfer of electrons

<answer>

after i do each sub topic in a module, i answer the questions at the end of macquire, but im going to do the full test you made, conqering chem (they got really nice hard questions) and whatever sources i can find ... i hope thats effecient :( it takes me 2 hours a day to do each subtopic

sounds like your doing very well, and its great to hear that students are putting in the hard work early on in the year.

Don't overload your chem study thou, you might get sick of it, and then you might not enjoy it.

I like your study approach, my revision book/macquarie q's and conquering for hard questions.

Also, never forget you have your class teacher to help you when you get stuck with concepts/questions.

The teachers at Oatley are very keen and will also find time to help you out.

i just did the first half and took me a good hour or so, a few things im unsure of, i did 90% of itoff the top of my head, especially ethanol i knew that like the back of my hand, i was a little dodgy with petrochemical, i was forgetting the catalyst getting the zeigal natta confused with the aluminium silica (ziegal natta is used in polymers iirc) and i was trying to find catalyst in catalytic breaking

ill do the other half when my brain switches back on (may be never) ;D very nicely set out and ill scan my working out so you can laugh at it

I have my half yearly for chemistry in either week 8 or week 9.. now were starting week 4.... so yeh...

i think by then we would be finished the 2nd module... possibly the beginning of the 3rd module.... but most likely we'll be examined on the whole first 2 modules.. including all the syllabus dot points...

Weeks 10/11 and it will cover all of PoM and probably 2/3 of the Acidic Environment.

My half-yearlies are spread out over 2 weeks, from the 11th of merch til the 25th. My teacher says we should be finished the 3rd part of the acidic environment by then, if all goes well.

Dear All,

If you have an exam coming up, (most have one at the end of this term), download the MODULE ONE REVISION WORKSHEET at the start of this thread, its excellent revision.

Cheers,
George

Thankyou so much, this is really good. Do you have a Module 2 (acidic environment) sheet as well?
