Another good addition to it would be a 15,000 rpm HDD, if you get roughly a 35gb sized one, set that up as your primary drive for the OS, it flies... like flies like superman.

not too sure of having a cordless keyboard and mouse for a gaming rig. The slow response time (which kind of cancels out the 5ms monitor), possibility of unregistered keystrokes and getting fragged due to a mouse thats out of batteries can get really frustrating.

also the high end RAM probably isnt too necessary. i hear the difference is makes in applications isnt noticeable.

mm good idea, i can get a 36GB Raptor (10000rpm), lol it costs more than a 320GB Seagate SATAII. Would it be better than having 2 320GB Seagate SATAII in RAID?

And DeathB4Life: for wireless keyboard/mouse- i found a review(http://www.thinkcomputers.org/beta/home.php?x=reviews&id=253&page=6) which doesnt seem to have problems with response times, and Logitech say the battery should be- 6 months+, sounds fair enough to me, cos im now trying to minimise the cost.

RAM: Im getting those cos they pwn for OCing.

If you want to overclock I'd advise paying a little bit extra for the E6600, those things go like lightning.

Is it really that important to have a wireless keyboard/mouse?

mm I can go any higher on the cpu atm

AsyLum: The Logitech Cordless Desktop S510 - $69 from MSY is a pretty good deal, I thought of the Logitech G15+MX610-cordless laser=$192 at auspcmarket

I'd stick with the 7,200rpm hard disks.
The 10/15k rpm drives makes no difference to your OCing, should make no difference to your gaming except for slightly shorter loading times and although will help you perform certain actions faster (e.g loading applications etc.).. I just can't see the justification for the price and the difference in storage capacities. If you've got a lot of bling, then consider this non-essential luxury. If not, stick with the 320GBs.

For gaming's sake, I would consider the E6600 Core 2. It's OCing headroom is much more suitable for balancing the 8800GTS.

Consider an X-Fi XtremeMusic instead of an Audigy 4 too.

The mouse which comes with the S510 is crap for gaming. If gaming will be an integral part of this new PC (which I assume will be since you're getting a 2nd-tier NVIDIA G80), then you'll want a mouse like the MX-518/G5 (corded) or the G7 (cordless). It is miles better than the MX-610 mouse for gaming, which I also own.

Hmm, the X-Fi is that the one replacing the Audigy series? Thinking of whether to get one of those or an Audiophile 2496, need my latency lol

Instead of 2 x 320Gb(above my budget), im going to get 2 x 160GB and RAID them, does that sound good?

These will be the final specs(most probably..lol) guys, thx for the help. Im going to be purchasing most of it this week.

Also, I will need a reliable Wireless router/adapter(is PCI or USB better) set to share my optus cable, due to the new pc. Any recommendations? I looked at some netgear and linksys ones, ranging from total: $95-$157. sanx

If you're gonna go G80/R600.. I wouldn't even bother spending $450 on a video card right now. Either get a 8800GTS now, or save the money and get it later.

atm it will be ~$2596.05 (with delivery,im picking up most of it)- and also changed the vid card to Power Color 512MB X1950 Pro Extreme (Silent Cooler,VIVO..) which is $363 after what Collin suggested, so I can save for next years G80/R600, and I cant go G80 atm either.
