HELP GUYS
so if I want the shortest distance |w-z| where w is represented by the locus x^2 + (y-1)^2 =9 and z by the line 4x+3y-24=0 , how would I find the shortest distance??
the answer says it's 4.2, but they took the perp distance from the centre of the circle. I don't get how they can do this, considering the complex no's are always drawn from the origin?? THANKS
