how do you find the roots of p^2=3+2sqroot2?

should there be an "i" in that question? If it's p^2 = 3 + 2sqroot2 i
then you let p = x+iy
(x + iy)^2 = 3 = 3 + 2sqroot2 i
and equate real and imaginary parts
