Hey there,

I'm interested in taking this course...
what is your opinion of this course?

Can you tell me everything about ite?
What is the cutoff?

I heard there is also a course called
similar to that but IT Innovation
something like that..

Please detail...

Thanks,

the prob with an IT course is that u learn all the latest technology (only), ie, u dont really learn any of the foundations. wheras in a comp eng or s.eng degree, u learn all the fundamentals which helps u better adjust to the changing technology.
but if u r so keen on doing IT, i wud say the best is the BIT co-op at unsw ........

In a way its better to do I.T at Tafe as it is a much more "hands on" practical approach compared to uni

Interesting.

Can you give an example of what kind of latest technology people who do courses like BIT learn as compared to Comp eng or s.eng people?

and would a BIT degree be more geared towards a job, whereas a comp. eng. degree would be more towards research and stuff?

think outside the box, doing IT at uni is much more beneficial than doing it at tafe. im doing bscit and we will have our fair share of physical and technical experience. heck, we get industrial training in 3rd year. and also an IT degree can enchance your opportunities overseas while i dont think a TAFE certificate would get you much in an overseas organisation. however, i still think doing IT at tafe is good if you want to get straight into the workforce instead of studying for 3 or 4 years.
