You know how it states in the syllabus, "turning points in the battles of Midway, Coral Sea, Guadacanal, Guinea" what does it mean? anyone?

You know how it states in the syllabus, "turning points in the battles of Midway, Coral Sea, Guadacanal, Guinea" what does it mean? anyone?

whether they were turning points or just significant battles and how these battles effected the outcome of the war.

eg for the 2nd part: Midway showed the usefulness of ship-mounted radar in battle, as the Americans were able to find the Imperial Navy much quicker because of it.

the 'end' of the short-lived Japanese expansion during the Pacific. Afterwards most battles involved Allied aggression in reclaiming Japanese-occupied islands.

I believe Midway, Guadalcanal and the New Guinea (Kokoda, Milne Bay) campaigns were all victories, with Coral Sea a "tactical stalemate but a strategic victory" for the Allies.
