confusing the anode and cathode (1 Viewer)

how can i tell which metal will become the anode and which will become the cathode in a galvanic cell? it has somethign to do with Eo values right?? help :(

the one with a more negative voltage (u know the table) is the anode (oxidation) and the more positive one is hte cathode (reduction). So yeah its hte Eo value thing.

OIL RIG = oxidation is loss, reduction is gain (in reference to electrons)
E° values are reduction potentials... note the cathode is always the side where reduction occurs. so the greater the E° values the more likely its going to be the cathode.
someone pls agree with me on this, cos im pretty sure its right, but not 100%

The one higher up on the table will be come the anode, the one lower in the table (the more positive) the cathode.
