Need help with this x^2/4 +y^2/3 = 1

Find equation of the tangent and normal at x=2 y has to be found out using the equation of the ellipise.

Ok I subbed in the x and got y=0 which kind of makes the rest of it a bit predictable and dodge.......so I will have a dig at it anyway

xx1/a^2 + yy1/b^2=1 (Eqtn of tangent)

2x/4 + 0.y/3=1

x/2=1
x=2 (eqtn of tangent)

And as a guess y=0 will be eqtn of normal

But hmm sorry Man I have never had a question come out like that before

I know when i looked at it and got y=0, i was like this is not going to work. i'll work on it and see if it comes out to something that looks right



I've had a look and came up with the same, the equation of the tangent to be x=2 and the equation of the normal to be y=0
