The tangent at P (acostheta, bsintheta) to the ellipse (x2/a2 +y2/b2=1) cuts the y axis at Q. The normal at P is parallel to the line joining Q to the focus s' . If S is the other focus, show that PS is parallel to the y axis.

Here's what I have so far. Came across a funny little bump where to prove x_1 = ae (thus proving the question), the requiement is that x_1 = ae ....

Anyway I have to go now and I'll take a look at again properly later unless somebody finishes it for me =)

Btw from my second last line, the question can be solved by using the quadratic formula, but it's a bit messy.
