in a similar style to the 'R related texts' thread- do you think it would be considered inappropriate to include Nabokov's Lolita [the novel] as an ORT for my upcoming assessment task? unlike films, there's no rating or anything and by no means am I glorifying or accepting Humbert's way of life.. but it fits so perfectly with what the assessment task encompasses, and its written so beautifully- i just can't resist!!

any thoughts/feelings etc appreciated!!

i wouldn't say Lolita is a very controversial/cotentious text these days...

i mean my sister in year 9 is studying it! :lol:

i suppose the controversy may arise if you take a particularly extreme view that is disturbing to social norms or political correctness.

but that doesn't sound like what you're doing anyway, so i can't see any problems. :)
