Hey does anyone who did revenge tragedy in Year 11 and studied Oedipus the King as a related text know how the conventions of revenge tragedy are evident. Some of the obvious and power, corrupt society and supernatural elements driving the protagonist (Oedipus) but how is revenge actually shown throughout the play? Is the series of events before the play (Oedipus killing his father and sleeping with his mother) to fulfil the prophecy a motive for revenge...? My main question is... is revenge taken?
