I will be starting my preliminary course this year and the subjects I'd like to do are:
English (standard)
Mathematics + Ext. 1
Biology
Chemistry
Ancient History
Studies of Religion I or II

and what I was wondering was that will these subjects get me the mark to get into dentistry (96+ UAI)? I think if I worked hard I could get approx. 90% in all of the above subjects except mathematics ext. which I could get perhaps 80%ish for... I didn't want to get scaled down for choosing "easy" subjects, so I decided I'd do ext. 1 maths and go down from english advanced (because I know I'll suck @ it) to standard... Please inform me of your thoughts and opinions.
P.S. Should I do uno unit of SOR or deux? I really like the subject, but should I really be concentrating on my other subjects, or if I do well, could I get scaled up?!
I really really really want to get into dentistry after leaving school, so I NEEEEED 96+ UAI

Studies of Religion II has quite a good scaling actually. It's much better than Studies of Religion I since it is not capped first of all and it's generally better throughout different percentiles. If you are passionate about SOR, definitely do SOR II. It's basically same as SOR I...you just learn more religions and go to some non-religion topics such as Religion & Peace (I think).

BTW, your subjects are prefectly fine. You have a very good subject line in terms of scaling. English (Standard) is fine too. Its scaling is same as English (Advanced) basically and if you do well in English (Standard), you won't be really affected adversely.

You have a ridiculously vast amount of information/resources on everything about secondary school... I see your posts everywhere! What I really mean to convey is, thanks for your help. Makes me feel a lot more... 'safe'. :karate:
