The whole time, i knew the UN's Food for oil programme was botched up, i blamed the US for some reason. this was back when i was in year 8 (yep, first taste for politics )

now it turns out, the guy send by the UN to run the show has been pocketing money for himself. And Kofee Annan's son seems to have been in some unsightly trades himself.

a few inquiries are going to be made in upcoming times. ill see if i can get a link....

my question is:

should the structure of the UN be changed to encourage more transparency? (and prevent things like this ever occuring again)


its not surprising this had happened. in year 8 i read this article written by fmr US attorney Gen. Ramsey Clarke , now i think an IAC chairman, siting (spelling?) accounts that a dozen or so UN aid workers at the UN food for oil programme reigned in protest at the failure of the programme.

US fmr sec of state Albright admitted on TV, that 500,000 kids did die in the post Gulf War era. Yet the UN didnt take any affirmative action to stop this trend or change it in any way,

What is GOING on here!?

if u didnt know, most kids died because of the bombs and the chemicals that they contained, and caused cancer and other diseases in kids, and most kids were born deformed because of the chemicals, so instead of limiting their resources, and if they knew the regime had shit records then why didnt they help the people they damaged, they didnt hurt the regime at all, they just killed many without a cause and for those who survived, they didnt even help them

The idea of the UN is to create balance in the world, basically some people think without an international body larger nations won't look after smaller ones... which is possible.

If the UN was set up in the way which Einstein wanted, with it's own official army.. etc etc.... o well, i definately won't argue that the UN is corrupt.

Are u claiming that when people vote it's all a lie and they really voted another way? that's just stupid it would require such a huge conspiracy with so many people... that it just doesn't happen.

its kind of amusing...the US gets all shitty when countries fail to meet UN demands...however for some weird reason they are exempt from listening to UN orders.......so it looks like the UN are just a waste of space........the show is obviously run by the US and israel......

The US has been telling the UN to enforce demands, perhaps the UN should of said 'do NOT invade iraq without or permission or your nation will be barred from the united nations', sure america might have just left and declared them illegitimate..

thats two different things, when the U.N decides on something, it only takes one hand raise from the larger countries (USA, England, France, China, Russia) to veto it and it gets thrown away,
another thing is that the U.N doesnt create balance cause it didnt do anythign to america when it invaded another country without any proper cause
and with voting it does happen man, look at the ukrainian elections
