i never said that the U.N was set up to assist wars, i said it legalised them for the bigger countries, so when israel for instance invades palestine the U.N says get out and then america says no and it vetos it, so it becomes legal for israel to invade, get me

Japan doesn't have veto powers.
It was proposed that they be in a larger group (incl. Egypt, Brazil, etc.) that have veto powers in the future.

Indeed. And here I was thinking people where suprised, or even cared that the UN, like everything else is corrupt. It's the way the world works.

Of course there's corruption in everything, even the government.
This is why we cannot give the government so much control over ever part of our lives, it's better to allow private organisations that can be looked into by the government and other organisations to run their business the way they would have it.

well still, i support the UN

what i am concerned about, (and why o put this thread up)
is that the alturistic actions of thousands of UN volunteers and professionals can be compromised to a variable degree, or even halted completely due to the corruption in the beaurocracy!

the UN was created after WWII because after WWI, the league of nations, failed to stop another deadly war. IF the UN fails, what will we call the next globally interactive organisation?
