Just a quick question with the creative writing section in the standard exam.

My question is, are you able to write in any tense (1st person - 3rd person) in this section?

I always thought you could write in any tense you like, until my current English teacher told me that examiners now prefer pieces to be written in 3rd person.

I just wanted to clariffy, how would others write their piece, 1st person - 3rd person?

Most people write better in third person, it usually increases their clarity and narrative abilities. However, it is not universal, and certainly not a requirement.
