what mark is classified as a 'credit', 'distinction' and 'high distinction'?

obviously a 'pass' is 50% but what about the others?

For external transfer (ie. tranfering to other unis), will need you to stay at the uni for at least a year, UAI will also be taken into account and you would preferably need to get a distinction average for at least 2 semesters.

ok i mean study super hard and you won't go wrong!!

(i'm just saying it's hard enough to manage a pass average for most courses :p)

it really depends on who is marking the stuff.. but if you put the effort in you should be rewarded.
They changed the marking scheme a few years ago.. they used to have to give out a certain amount of HD's, certain about of Credits etc.. but now they mark you according to criteria, so it's possible for nobody in the subject to get a HD.
Just do your work well and you have a good chance at getting your transfer :D

Could be the fact that they expect a certain standard.

One of my policing tutors last year said it was his job to weed out the people that couldn't do the course .. he did just that. He dished out a lot of bullshit and expected a high standard of everyone.

yeah, a lot of people i know that have finished uni said first year was the hardest, coz they were trying to weed out those who didnt deserve to be there
accounts for why first year has the highest drop out rate
