I have been advised by my teacher to provide numerous analytical quotes from literate members of the community (such as authors and the like) that give insight into the different areas of crime fiction, such as the detective, the villain, the conventions of crime fiction, the popularity of the genre and other similar areas.

I am wondering as to what those of you who have completed this course think regarding this, and whether you can provide any quotes, or places where they can be found, for me and others.

The two best texts for this purpose would be The Skull Beneath the Skin and The Real Inspector Hound, both abound with commentary regarding the complexities of the genre at various points. I won't give you specific quotes because it would be better for you to learn to recognise these in the text yourself. However, I do have some juicy interviews for you that also have some commentary:
