I am stuck too, there are so many subgenres of Crime that can be explored, and not enough time to find the right one.

I am thinking of reading, along with a Sherlock Holmes story, either:
  • Boy In The Water - Stephen Dobyns
  • False Impression - Jeffrey Archer
  • Snow Falling On Cedars - David Guterson
However, I only found those books through a quick search at my local library. In class we've studied Agatha Christie, along with The Skull Beneath The Skin. We've also been told to explore episodes of NCIS, CSI and L+O if we want to focus on TV as one of our ORTs.
