dok so my cramming starts today. the thread title is self explanatary.


so pretty much i havent read my text for prose fiction.
but i know the readings.
and everyone's saying this module is BASED on contrasting readings and interpretations of the texts.

is this what i focus my study on til then?

nah. pretty sure its atually got nothing to do with readings. i keep getting a lot of feedback from a lot of people and hsc markers saying that the bos is trying to get the study away from readings, and back onto the text itself.
rumour has it that the question on monday is going to be <i>very</i> specific in nature. just have a look at the 2006 question... it has pretty much nothing to do with readings.

focus your study on the themes of the text and the characterisation of the text id say. but dont quote me to it.

saying all this. im screwed myself.

Readings are an important part, but the focus should always be on the text itself in terms of themes, techniques etc. Your whole essay shouldnt be about readings, but the critics and readings should be integrated.

For example, for gwen harwood: ''The violets' explores ageing and the passing of time...(talk about the poem)...this alludes to the psychoanalytical reading...'
