We'll probably get our results back tomorrow, but I got a laugh for you guys.

We do Germany right, and there were at least 10 blokes in our year who instead of talking about the affect of total war on World War 2 Nazi Germany, assessed the affect of total war on World War One Germany!!!! There's 20 marks down the tubes right there!
Then there were some people who didnt even attempt Pacific War questions...

No wonder why the history department at our school held a crisis meeting. They're trying to figure out just what the hell happened!

well, im happy because i didnt fail, but i still did crap.
WW1: 16/30 (hey i left it til last then ran out of time)
Germany: 14/20
Speer: 14/20
Cold War: 25/30

So that's a total of 69%, ranked 4th.. meh, lots of room for improvement. unfortunately in the hsc its right next to physics again. yuck.

Did my Modern trial today... and damn I stuffed it. Went alright in sources, I can imagine i'll get high 20s for that.

But I spent way too much time on the personality questions (Leni Riefenstahl), and left my conflict (Arab-Israeli) question only around 40 minutes. I'll hopefully get 18-20/20 for personality, but say 17/30 for the conflict essay. I remember quoting all of two historians, on a debate that (looking back) wasn't even relevant. Although I like my one from PM Eden, "President Nasser is the new Hitler!" that I incorporate into every essay. :)

I'm ranked two (of six) and I won't drop a rank, even if I get 50% (massive gap between 2nd and 3rd). But I was tentatively hoping this would be the occasion that I beat out a friend of mine who's ranked #1, and hold the top assessment mark. This is probably the main reason I'm disappointed. But meh, one more assessment next week to ace!

Good work on the top marks guys. I can't imagine I'll join you, but good stuff nonetheless.

i came third with 83. i topped the conflict in the pacific question that our teacher said everyone did shit in and hadn't studied for so thank god.

yeah jennylim, if i do well in the assessment i just handed in then i'll be sweet, otherwise i'm fucked. :S

I ended up getting 90%, ranked #1.

WWI Core - 29/30
Germany 1918-45 - 18/20
Leni Riefenstahl - 19/20
Arab-Israeli Conflict - 25/30

I hadn't studied enough for Arab-Israeli, which is why I'm 4-5 marks down on what I should have got. Plus I spent way too long on the personality questions. I didn't understand why I lost two marks on the Germany essay, (and it seems neither does my teacher) so he's having a look over it.

I wasn't overly happy, nor overly disappointed. I was surprised with the mark I got for the conflict essay, but i'm quite certain he marked easily, as the class on a whole need fine tuning when it comes to this topic.

83 but I did a different exam! The WWI questions were different.

Indochina I got 30/30 so I was happy. Stuffed up India and WWI wasn't too bad.

WW1: 28 / 30
Russia 1917-1945: 20/20
Trotsky Personality: 20/20
Cold War Conflict: 30/30

Total = 98

Was really happy with this, came first, with a few other people in the 90's. We're a pretty good school and have a really strong Modern candidature, but I'm not expecting a 98 HSC mark for Modern, though it'd be bloody awesome. I'll be happy with any Band 6 :D

Well done with all your marks guys!

Only got 62% and I can really achieve 80%. I was tottally Stuffed when there was no Pre-Nazi Question it really threw me cause I studied for just that and yes its stupid and my Teacher told me he didn't change it just to show me I need to broaden my study. *sigh*

Weimar wasnt too likely to be in there considering it was in last year's cssa
But if you look at past HSC papers, there's *always* a pre-Nazi question. Even if 'Weimar' isn't in the question itself, you're sure going to be talking about it all the way through.

Congratulations, that's incredible, but I think it's fair for me to question the integrity of your teacher or whoever marked your paper. Unless you are infact brilliant and all of your last three essays truly deserved full marks I find it hard to believe someone could pull off 100% for the majority of responses.

Not to detract from your success, you and your class may well be machines, but does anybody else think that having so many different teachers mark trials leads to marking disparities? I just doubt that the marking criteria is interpreted uniformly across the state and as a result some of us are marked considerably tougher.
