what did pple say for that sulfate/fertiliser question?

Why the hell did he put more ba into the filtrate?

i THINK i said to check that all the sulfate had gone or something.. A
I said A I think...that it was added to see if there any sulfate ions still present. None of the others seemed correct to me.

As for the oyster question...
It was basically along the lines of: An adult needs 12mg of zinc per day. An average oyster contains 200ppm of zinc. How many oysters are required to fulfil the daily intake of zinc for an adult?

How many marks was it worth?

Im just trying to see where I need to revise also ;)
5 from memory...
I guess the criteria would be 3 marks for identifying dis/(advantages) and 2 for assessing though I presume it's a holistic mark rather than being broken down like that.

ah rats.

Were the answers something like:
0.2
1.6
17?

cause im starting to think its 17. Anyway, i THINK i put 1.6 I cant for the life of me remember now.

anyway if it was it would be:
1 oyster has 12mg of zinc,
and u need 200 mg of zinc, so:
oysters would be : 200X1 /12 = 16.6 ~ 17 bloody oysters. Damn arg, i cant remember...

Hangon hangon....it was the other way around...
You need 12mg, the oyster has 200ppm zinc.

Options were: 0.2, 12, 6 and 1.7 from memory though I'm unsure about the 12.

hmmm 200/(1000 * 10) = 0.02g in each oyster. So they need 600 oysters....(hmmm)

How did you get 0.2mg?
I said 200ppm = 200 micrograms (i.e. 200/1000000 of a gram)
But 200 micrograms = 0.2mg

Well, you got 600 and I got 60. The only answer close was 6. Though, again I may be wrong.

Sorry hasty mistake there. 0.02g = 0.2mg. So they need 60 oysters..... Hmmmmph again.
0.02g is 20mg :)
But yet we have reached no logical answer. I highly doubt that the examiners could have made an error, but anything is possible. I'm still none the wiser.

thankgod for that combustion question !!! i got around 300

well -300 but the negative indicates exothermic

Like i said, i put 0.2 oysters

12mg per day

one oyster contains 200ppm

12/200 = 0.06 so to reach the minimum, just the 0.2 would be sufficient = I don't know tho

i wasn't taught ppm really, tho i was under the assumption that its ppm = 1mg/l
