yes i shrug to about 5 of the MC... but who cares, they are only worth 1 mark - big deal
It's reassuring to know u guys also had some trouble with MC... i think that was the least part i liked about the exam...

chem exams put me off.... u do all that study and then get tested on like 1/10 of what u studied... (exaggeration.. but yeh....)

hmmmm... maybe we should have like 3 chem HSC exams....

That stupid oyster q...I put 6, since I believe that regardless of the power, it would come down to 12/200...i.e. whether it was 12 x 100/200 x 10 or 12 x 10/200 x 100 etc. then the answer would have to be a power of 6...that was my reasoning but I'm still unsure as to what the answer is.

As for the last question...I got 2707. I think there were something like 30 moles of N2H4 used. The ratio of moles was 2:7, meaning that there were 30*3.5 moles of gas produced. Multiply that by 24.79 and you get 2707. Again, I'm not sure if I'm right though.

think of it like this:

u'll have 3 exams.. each worth 100...

so in total ur exams are worth 300

that way u'd make up for ur weak pts in one exam... and as a result u'll have a way better chnace of getting higher marks...i mean losing 30 out of 100... or losing 60 out of 300?

I think my freind did what u did for the last question.. he also obtained 2707 as an answer

that had me as well

i left it as 1 i think in the end, since it doesn't affect the concentration of [h+]

i dunno.... i had 2, but then changed = FUCKED EXAM

I got 2.
But I wasn't entirely sure whether or not adding the water would affect the [H+]...I think it does. In which case the answer is 2.

Btw. Adding water doesn't affect the strength of the acid since hydrochloric acid is always completely ionised. Though I'm quite sure diluting the solution does affect the hydrogen ion concentration since there are fewer hydrogen ions per litre of water.

I said C I think...ammonia is pink in phenol (I think that was the option). I don't think it could have been any of the rest since acids are clear in phenol and bases are pinkish.

Yea...one gas + water was also released as a gas = 7 moles of gas in total.
