I remembered a few people talking about doing Cul 203 a while ago (glitterfairy, I think?) and was just wondering if anyone ended up doing it. I'm working on a summary of the article about Futurism and whatnot at the moment, it seems like it'll be an interesting unit!

This is totally random and is getting posted because I have two hours of nothing to do (BORING BORING BORING), but:

Was having a chat to some ARTS210 people about cul203. Their main comments - purely from them, mind you - are "it's wanky", "all I do each week is pick the shortest article to summarise", "_____, ______ and Absurdism are fundamentally the same thing so why are we learning them as 'different' things?" and other stuff along those lines. My memory could be wrong though, the "it's wanky" comment may have been about Neil Perry's restaurant (which some other ARTS210 people and I were talking/bitching about that day).

I had to do a ridiculously short reflection statement for an engl218 piece the other day, so if any cul203 people out there are really hating the summaries you have to do each week (because you need more words than - what is it? - 200 or so), you have my sympathies.

Yeah..I think the summaries are mainly to make sure we do at least one reading a week, they are a bit annoying when you forget to do them though!
Parts of it are interesting (to me anyway) but a lot of it has been so wanky and seemingly pointless that it made me grit my teeth and just think "Ok, you have to do this subject to teach drama, just deal with it and it'll be over one day!"

PS - hope you kept yourself somewhat busy during your break!

haha, at least if it is relatively easy enough to do though, you know you'll pass :)

PS: And I drove home instead of waiting around ;) However to compensate, I will be going to uni tomorrow for BBA250 :S I may even sit in at the lecture...... or not.

Lol, I love the compensation and justifying to yourself about skipping classes. It's like bargaining with the Tertiary Education God or something.
Not too sure that I'll pass CUL203 though, a lot of the mark is based on a group performance which I'm feeling decidedly nervous about (not performing, collaborating with 6 other people to create a 'piece')
