I don't know if this question was raised before. And I don't know if this section is the right place for my thread, but I really need some answer from you guys. Decent and honest answers.

Well here is the story...

I was at work and suddenly my cousin called me that the internet connection wasn't working. I told him to re-connect. And when I came home and checked my computer, all I can see is my wallpaper. There is no Start Menu, minitray and Desktop Icons. Everything is gone. The only thing working is Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Here are the steps I made...

(1) Restart the computer. - Nothing happens.
(2) went to my next door neighbor and checked on their net some solution to my problem. - I saw a forum where it says type in services.msc on New Task then it says look for server and disable it in safe mode. I tried that and nothing happened.

Now what will I do. Number (2) seems incomplete. It seems that there is a next step that should be done after I disable it. Maybe restart or do something else. But it wasn't specified. So please, if you have any idea what is going on. Please Help!!!

Thanks alot.

I tried that. And only this folder containing my Desktop items appeared. Still no Start Up Menu and minitray and the Icons are not on the desktop either.

Thanks for the suggestion anyways xD

Not constructive, but... that's what you'd associate with Windows OS. End of story.

Someone needs a Mac.

You may have accidently enabled extended desktop, and the primary desktop is on the screen that isn't connected, so the screen you have now is just the "extended" part of the desktop.

Disable extended desktop and it'll be all good if that is the case.

quick, hide. the FBI has stolen your stuff. don't go out the front door. you best option is to hide inside the sofa, for some reason they never look there... also put you hard drive inside a microwave for 3 minutes or put it next to a VERY large magnet else they will find your cp. now run

Download Hijackthis

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe

Run the HijackThis Installer and it will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.

don't change the directory.

After installing, the program launches automatically, select Scan now and save a log

After the scan is complete please attach your logs here

<Serious answer> try running your computer in safe mode, if it works then i can give more advise if not....

to get your computer into safe mode, restart your computer and when you see the boot screen (varies from computer to computer, normally it is the screen that has the computer manufacturers logo, if not just keep hitting the F8 key until you get the message) press F8 repeatably while this screen is up and you should get a message asking you how do you want to boot your system. select safe mode (if there are more than one option, pick the one that looks less complicated). this will boot your computer into safe mode which basically is a fancy name for 'run windows with core systems running only). if you can see icons on your desk top then post back here. if you cant, try alt+ctrl+del and if nothing happens, shut down and go see a specialist

yeah, that's gonna work.... if he knows how to get into BIOS.... which i doubt and even if he does he probably doesn't know that overclocking your processor to 15000 Hz makes your computer run 400% efficiency
