It felt like if I hadn't studied I could've produced the same mark. I was making sure I knew all my terminology and was worried I didn't know enough content and hardly anything I studied was in the test... So annoying.

Agrees with OP, i got stick of answering fucking ETHICS questions. One or two isn't bad, but when the whole fucking test asks about ethics rather than content... gRRRR
I know, makes your study seem like a waste cause at the end it came down to crappying on.

It's easier to add 'ethics' to a syllabus than to update it to actually reflect the real world.
Very true. The exam's treatment of ethics was superficial. But that's the HSC.

What aligned exam mark did you earn, by the way, to achieve a state ranking?
Not that I could get one, I'm just intrigued.

haha u stole me idea... but i was gonna say society and culture

anywhoo THAT WAS THE SHITTEST TECHNOLOGY EXAM I HAVE EVERRR DONE IN MY ENTIRREEEE LIFE (and ive done some pretty shit ones eg: trial)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HOW INFURIATING it better align well cause i certainty bullshitted so much irrelevant shit. More than 1/3 of the marks were social/ethical issue based! WTF!
Society & Culture is nothing like Social and Ethical Issues whatsoever :/
By the way the IPT exam reflected the increasing syllabus emphasis on ethical issues in IT; syllabus dotpoints are dominated by these issues. So it really wasn't surprising.

it's probably because social and ethical issues are really important these days as opposed to 5 years ago.
