Hi, i was wondering if anyone can clarify the differences between accounting and finance? All i've heard is that finance is harder than accounting & apparently accounting has more to do with numbers than finance?

Can anyone tell me what the differences between the two majors are? Also, what are the possible career options?

Thanks :)

well, from my personal experience, accounting is abt stupid, simple numbers, while finance would be much more complicated. So if u r not math-minded,u might find accounting easier....

Generally:

Accounting
-learn how to account for the financial records of a company according to established accounting standards
-dull and repetitive

Finance
-learn how to value financial assets such as companies/shares (e.g. by using accounting numbers), bonds, options etc
-concepts are definitely more difficult, maths is not *too* complicated (depending on the subjects you choose)
-more interesting
