hey!!
I'm in advanced and for area of study we're doing "Peter Skrynecki" and his poems and im just wondering i was going to use another poem as one of my supplementary materials....but is htat bad? are we supposed to use a totally different medium. I'm also using a movie....but i was going to use another poem.
If anyone has a decent teacher and knows...please tell me!!

my teacher (he's head teacher out our school) said one of the things they look for is our ability to relate a variety of mediums, so he said try to avoid using another poem, but if you cant, just make sure you use it REALLY well and make sure that your others arent too typical either. He said the reason for this is that generally poets use the same techniques when writing poetry so if the question asks for a variety of techniques, you might get stuck. If your poems use different techniques then you should be right.

Wht are your other texts (bos booklet and other supplementary materials)???

yep, my teacher (head teacher, senior hsc marker) advised us very strongly against using two sorts of the same medium..like, our core is a novel, but she said for our extra material not to do two movies or two newspaper articles or whatever.

im using peter's poems, then sky high, then a movie (american history) then another poem that i used for the trials...but i dunno...ur sorta changing my mind! (thats not a bad thing) i went pretty good for that section in the trials...but i guess i should use different mediums. hmmm...but it is a bit different...the language used and the narrative.
