Our cash is clean

A new study of money has proven definitively that notes and coins are not nearly as dirty or germ-ridden as people think.

The trans-Tasman research found low levels of common bacteria on the currency traded through food outlets in Australia and New Zealand.

However, the presence of the bacteria was so insignificant it would be impossible for them to cause diarrhoea, vomiting or other gastrointestinal symptoms they're usually responsible for.

I have never given it a thought. I have skin and an immune system for a reason: so that i can do normal tasks like handle money risk free. People tell you money is dirty, dont touch your food after touching money and so on... i do it all the time and never think about it... mcdonalds drive through, hand money over and buys some chips = touching my food with money contaminated hands... and i have never been sick from it.
