hey guys im not really sure what the equation for the dissolution of ammonium chloride into water is. thanks in advance :D

In addition to Priesty's equation:

NH4 + H2O <=> NH3 + H3O+

The hydronium ion (H3O+) is acidic and therefore makes ammonium slightly acidic.

hey guys say if i have 5 grams of sodium nitrate and dissolve in 100mL of water when i just the J = MC delta ^T formula, do i take M as 100grams or 105grams.

because i put 105 grams as this is what it said in the conquering chem preliminary. its wrong isn't it?:(

100 grams. Then you get a value of X Joules. So the dissolution of 5 grams of sodium nitrate releases/absorbs X Joules. Divice by 5 to get J/g or divide by 5/M to get J/mol.

Oh wait, it said 105 g in CC? Well I'm pretty sure it's 100 g, and CC does make a shitload of mistakes... :confused:
