depends
I've had a lecture with up to 500 people, and a lecture with about 40 people

tutes vary too..my accounting tute was always empty, about 10 regulars including myself, but other tutes, had about 30 or so crammed into a room

500 people?!?!

What do you do in the lectures? Just listen to a person speak and take down notes if required?

not really you usually just copy over heads or the black board as fast as possible before the idiot lecturer decides to rub it out lol. either that or your lecturer uses power point and posts lecture notes on web ct or the school web site.

Basically yes.

The latter sounds much better. :)
But it isn't always possible, especially in computing and maths ....
