No solid figures to offer. However, considering that you want to maintain a distinction average, you will have to be prepared to give up a sizable portion of your uni life studying.

That or really really good time management

depends on what subjects you take and whether you have any interest in the subject.

not really, if you got a uai of 90-95 doing no math/science at all and you're not good at math, you'd be pretty stuffed if you tried to major in math or physics in science. Similarly if you did a lot of math and sci but only standard english(and did poorly), you'd struggle quite a lot with more artsy subjects like history or comparative literature.

a lot of people I know who do law struggle to keep a good average because they got the high uai by doing mostly high scalling math/sci, and a lot of engineering/science people I know struggle because they didn't do much math/sci in the hsc but they got in because their uai was high enough.

oh and I got a uai of 88 and i'm in a science degree with an HD average after 2nd year :p

It depends mainly on how intelligent you are and how much time you are willing to invest... and there is no UAI equivalent because uni is a different kind of learning than the HSC, you generally can't get away with memorising stuff.

In order of worst to best:

UF - Unsatisfactory fail (0-45 + failure to submit assignments or similar)
FL - Fail (0-45)
PC - Pass Conceded (45-50)
PS - Pass (50-64)
CR - Credit (65-74)
DN - Distinction (75-84)
HD - High Distinction (85-100)

A big part depends on the workload you're willing to invest. With some lecturers you may find yourself working twice as hard for a distinction than you may for a HD with another, particularly in Arts.
If possible, try to find people who have done the courses you want to do already and can tell you about them. If you're lucky, you may avoid some of the blinders others of us have been stuck with.
